Just back from two weeks in Europe (Paris, Menorca, Ibiza, Barcelona) and wallowing in my typical post-trip malaise, sending unhinged texts, like “Ugh back in America w all the puritans” and complaining about how I’d never be treated that way in Barcelona. Perhaps some tales from the road soon…
In the meantime, a few highlights from NYC last month…
Marcel duChamp at MoMA – I’ll never see the world the same way after this exhibit (through Aug. 22). Hilton Als can explain.
Bar Chimera – Simon Kim’s new three-headed beast in midtown: a whiskey bar, martini bar and wine bar with a brasserie-inspired menu all under one roof, plus a Cote outpost in the basement, well worth a gander. Intimate omakase is also inbound.
Schaller & Weber – historic UES German market, butcher and sandwich shop on 2nd Ave. perfect for Carl Schurz Park provisioning, since 1937.
